Events Impacted By COVID-19

The following campus events have been canceled, postponed or otherwise impacted due to precautions related to coronavirus and COVID-19:

Canceled Events:

  • ITDE Information Session, March 19
  • Spring 2020 Aggie Ally Training, March 20 & March 27 (further dates potentially moving to virtual)
  • Engineering Preview Day at Galveston, March 20
  • Big Event, March 21
  • Galveston Mayoral Debate, March 25
  • Relay for Life, March 26
  • TAMUG Advising Council, March 27
  • Aggieland Saturday by the Sea, March 28
  • Spring Fest, April 1
  • Board of Visitors Meeting, April 2
  • Maritime Ball, April 3
  • Campus Career Fair, April 7 (potentially moving to virtual)
  • Graduate Research Symposium, April 14-16 (potentially moving to virtual)
  • Ring Day, April 17
    • Ring recipients will be able to choose from two options: have your Aggie Ring shipped to you for receipt April 2-17, or pick it up at the Williams Alumni Center in College Station.
    • You will receive an email on Monday, March 23, with instructions for making your delivery choice. 
    • If students are unable to receive a shipment or pick up their ring in-person, please contact Student Development Specialist II Taylor Kemp at tkemp@tamug.edu for assistance. 
  • Muster, April 21
    • The Muster Committee has made the difficult decision to not hold this year’s Campus Muster Ceremony in person. The committee is currently exploring collaborative alternative options with the The Association of Former Students and the Galveston Campus to ensure Aggies by the Sea can experience this time-honored tradition together safely.
  • Earth Day, April 22
  • Transfer Workshop, April 22
  • TAMUG Leadership Series: Sea Camp, April 23
  • Family Weekend and related events
  • Faculty Luncheons
  • SeaCamp, through May 31
  • All faculty-led field trips and student-led international trips that will depart from the U.S. on or prior to June 30, 2020 are cancelled

Postponed Events:

  • Staff Appreciation Week, March 16-19
  • University Awards Ceremony, May 1
  • Commencement, May 9
  • Commissioning Ceremony, May 9

Impacted Events:

  • Prism 2020 Leadership Conference, April 3 (moved to virtual)
  • Summer Sea Term 2020
    • Planning continues as more information becomes available.
    • At this time, only domestic ports-of-call will be included due to a University directive on March 16 to cancel all international academic events, as well as the uncertainty of conditions overseas.
    • More information is forthcoming.
