Whether you’re a prospective student stepping onto campus for the very first time or getting ready to walk across the stage at graduation, programs at Texas A&M University at Galveston are growing.
In March, the campus saw record-breaking attendance at two events with the Spring Career Fair and Aggieland Saturday by the Sea.
On Saturday, March 11, the university welcomed 640 guests to campus for Aggieland Saturday by the Sea. "Aggieland Saturday by the Sea is the best way for prospective students to get a real feel for our campus and is oftentimes the first experience they have at Texas A&M Galveston,” said Interim Director of Student Enrollment Services Nicole Kinslow. Attendees could meet with Texas A&M Maritime Academy cadets and staff, visit the Interactive Ship Simulator and tour the General Rudder, learn about Aggie traditions, (including a Fightin' Texas Aggie yell practice), visit the Sea Life Facility and the brand new touch tank and learn more about our academic programs through interactive Q&A sessions.
The next Aggieland Saturday by the Sea is scheduled for November 4, 2023. You can find more information and register for the November Aggieland Saturday by the Sea on the admissions website. Registration will open later this year.
On March 23, the Spring Career Fair had over 100 potential employers in attendance–making it the largest career fair to date–and all eager to hire Aggies from the Galveston campus. Each semester, students talk with the companies, state and federal agencies and universities in attendance, often resulting in interviews and job offers. Although a date has not yet been set, the next career fair will take place in the fall semester.
“As the marine and maritime campus of Texas A&M, students get a world-class education in close proximity to the biodiverse Gulf of Mexico and a bustling maritime industry,” Kinslow said. “It's so exciting to see the growth of this outreach program and the growth of our university."
