Galveston Campus Tropical Shelter-in-Place Update    

Remote instruction and operations continue through Wednesday, Sept. 23. On-campus instruction and operations will resume as normal Thursday, Sept. 24.

The Galveston Campus has experienced minimal impacts from Tropical Depression Beta limited to road and parking lot flooding that has now subsided. Therefore, we are lifting our tropical shelter-in-place on campus. However, as Beta has moved inland, it has caused significant travel concerns through Wednesday, Sept. 23. As such, all on-campus operations and instructional activities will continue to operate remotely on Wednesday. All cadet activities are canceled Wednesday.

Campus is open to all students, faculty and staff who can safely travel to and from campus, but we strongly encourage all in our campus community to monitor travel conditions in your area and make decisions in the best interest of personal safety.

All on-campus operations and instructional activities will resume on-campus as normal on Thursday, Sept. 24.

Students who experience difficulties completing their course assignments should communicate via their usual means to their faculty member. Faculty and staff who experience difficulties completing their duties, instruction or work assignments while off-campus should contact their department head or supervisor to determine available options. Be aware that power outages may impede communications so be prepared to reach out as soon as able.

Students, faculty and staff should closely monitor Sea Aggie Alerts, campus email, campus social media (@aggiesbythesea) and the Galveston Campus mobile app for continued updates in the coming days. Stay alert, weather aware, and monitor travel conditions.

The Galveston Campus has partnered with the Texas A&M Foundation to channel donations to aid our students, faculty and staff who may be impacted by severe weather events, such as Tropical Storm Beta.
